December’s Ninja Newsletter🎄
The festive season is upon us, and we do have some great stuff for you in store this December.
Good news everybody! The Ninja team keeps on growing, which means we have a cool new team member to present: meet Gwen.
I’d like to introduce myself: my name is Gwen and I’ll be coaching the strength classes in the near future and I’ll be doing personal training as well. When I get my CF L1 certificate in December I will be coaching some WOD’s too!
Some of you may know me from back in 2014, when I started doing CrossFit at the previous location of CrossFit Ninja’s. After a year of CrossFit I fully made the switch to Powerlifting. I became a National Champion on the bench press twice, Western-European champion in classic Powerlifting and the 2018 Dutch Champion in classic Powerlifting. My personal records are 147,5kg on the back squat, 92,5kg on the bench press, 187,5kg on the deadlift. I decided to retire at my peak and shift my focus to conditioning and flexibility.
Since this year I started coaching. I coach at two other gyms in the Hague and I’ve set up my own company, which involves strength and body image coaching for women under the name ‘Bodybeeld’.
I am hugely interested in the working of our brains and want to coach strength holistically, in body and mind.
Besides all the serious stuff above, I think it is really important to have some good fun while you’re at it. Can’t wait to meet you all!
As you’ve read in the introduction, Gwen will be doing personal training sessions and when we’re allowed to have more than 30 people inside, strength classes and WOD’s too.

It’s the last month of the year, but there is still enough time left to bring your friends to your favorite place of fitness!

Festive season 2020
The festive season is almost there, and as with most things in 2020, it’s not going to be similar to previous years. As you might have anticipated, there is not going to be a Ninja Christmas dinner this year. Yeah, we’re bummed too.
However, we’ve come up with an alternative.
The Ninja Christmas dinner matchmaking service.
It’s very simple: send us an email if you want to join, and we’ll pair you up with a random Ninja to have a Christmas dinner with.
Share the joy, get to know new people, and have some fun!
Ninja mama II: the return of the power
From Friday the 11th of December at 1630 we’re bringing back the power to the ninja mama’s.
The classes will focus on how to train after giving birth or how to train during your pregnancy. Are you pregnant or did give birth at some point in your life? Then please join our classes and our coach will give you some valuable takeaways.
If you haven’t been working out after your pregnancy, we advise you to book a few personal training sessions first, where we teach you the ins and outs of training your body after it has gone through some rigorous changes.
Book your spot through the app and be quick about it, because we only have 4 spots!

Take the fight to the no shows and cancel late!
You can now sign out at all times before the workout, however if you sign out in the hour before, your credit will not be refunded. This is a new attempt to lower the no-shows, while at the same time freeing up some last minute spots for the most flexible among us.

December programming preview
As we’re heading towards the end of the year, we’d like to let you guys know we’re planning to go out with a blast. The first two weeks of December we’ll be continuing the heavy barbells. Let’s make it rain PR’s before we go into the last weeks of December. This means we have 3 days of heavy barbell work, followed by a no barbell day, followed by a light barbell day. The last weeks we’re just going to have fun. Cool WODS, no pressure.
